IX® in Action
Our client, a food manufacturing company, was unable to measure Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) due to gaps in data for machine availability, performance and quality. Leadership did not know if they won the day or where problems existed. Our client partnered with Implementation Engineers to use a machine monitoring system to track OEE. Activities during IX® included:
- Identified and captured all data needed to accurately calculate Availability, Performance and Quality of production facility
- Tracked machine downtime by machine data and operator input depending on machine capability
- Integrated all data into centralized warehouse and began measuring OEE
- Built custom dashboards to visualize OEE performance metrics in real-time
- Created views empowering all users from executive to shop floor level
- Trained members across organization to understand and use OEE dashboard
- Leveraged OEE data to identify highest priority production issues
- Improved production through root cause and corrective action and waste elimination
