Implementation Engineers History
Our journey began in 1963 as Ingersoll Engineers, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Machine Milling Company, to support product installation globally. Ingersoll Engineers provided technical support along with industrial and production engineering expertise to install and integrate Ingersoll’s large industrial equipment into existing and new manufacturing operations. Over time, our technical and manufacturing process support services expanded to include all aspects to include all aspects of operations, including plant design, product design processes, lean manufacturing, supply chain, quality, maintenance, people development, and Industry 4.0.
In 1988, Ingersoll Engineers transitioned into independent manufacturing service organizations across various countries, with the Germany entity rebranding as Management Engineers and the others forming Bourton Group. In 2000, Roger Kaufman, founder of Implementation Services, acquired Bourton Group USA and rebranded as Implementation Engineers, with a renewed focus on leveraging deep manufacturing expertise to become a leading Implementation Execution (IX®) firm.
The introduction of enCompass® in 2010 marked a significant milestone for Implementation Engineers, providing a structured and integrated methodology for achieving sustainable results from strategic initiatives and operational projects. By redefining our services as Implementation Execution (IX®) in 2023, we have differentiated ourselves from traditional consulting firms, emphasizing our commitment to delivering tangible results and sustainable solutions for complex business challenges. This evolution reflects our company's dedication to innovation, excellence, and client-centric approach in the realm of implementation services.”
