Implementation Engineers helps clients automate their warehouse and material handling processes to improve operational performance. These projects are generally conducted in two phases with an initial design phase followed by an implementation phase. The design phase is shorter in length and focuses on designing a right-sized automated solution to meet the requirements of the facility at the lowest cost. At the end of the design phase, the optimal automated solution is selected and an implementation plan is developed. The implementation phase includes all activities necessary to successfully acquire, deploy, and integrate the automated solution into the facility with minimal impact to day-to-day operations.
Implementation Engineers engaged in a project to eliminate external storage spending while improving outbound productivity to meet tighter customer delivery requirements. Following Implementation Design, IE redesigned the in-plant warehouse and storage density increased via alternative material handling equipment and racking selection. With newly created storage capacity, we eliminated an entire outside storage facility and optimized the pick path to minimize travel distance by over 80% leading to significant cost savings.
