At Implementation Engineers, we optimize manufacturing and fulfillment operations across multi-facility networks to effectively balance customer service levels and cost efficiency. We partner with clients to develop and execute strategies to identify the key quantitative and qualitative factors that drive optimal footprint decisions, such as determining the ideal location, size, and layout for facilities. Further, within the Supply Chain practice our team members work hand-in-hand with client leaders to optimize the flow of materials, products, and information within the asset network to effectively allocate production capacity and fulfill customer demand.
Our client, a multinational producer of infrastructure products, was experiencing a sold out market in which customer demand outpaced existing network production capacity. While the increase in demand was welcomed by senior management, production’s inability to keep up with demand began driving extended lead times and factory stress. Furthermore, product mix at the plant level did not consistently align with available tooling and production resources.
