Technology Roadmap
Implementation Engineers provides our customers with comprehensive facility technology strategies that include three pillars: technology, process, and people. We work with clients to develop multi-year roadmaps with pragmatic and actionable content such as foundational data management requirements needed to support technology enhancements and pilot technology opportunities across the operation. Further, we work with clients to implement technology roadmaps both broadly and in focused engagements in which we match fit-for-purpose technology solutions against specific operational challenges and tangible value. Lastly, we integrate change management and upskilling of the impacted personnel to ensure we move the people through the effort to yield the maximum intended value.

Our team of Implementation Engineers recently collaborated with a prominent agricultural manufacturer to transform its warehouse operations. Initially, our focus was on system optimization, aiming to streamline processes and enhance process controls. We introduced proven solutions such as Plan For Every Part, WIP offsets, Internal Lead Time management, and Supplier lead-time tracking. These systems drove more effective underlying operational processes and laid the foundation for improved process control and operational efficiency, which then led to the implementation of targeted technology solutions to further optimize processes and costs.
Transitioning to infrastructure enhancements, our team implemented remote receiving capabilities and automated sortation based on destination zones. We introduced advanced features like FIFO picking, kitting prioritization, aggregation, confirm-at-zero, and a Vertical Lift Module (VLM) to further optimize warehouse operations.
As part of our comprehensive technology roadmap, we visualized the warehouse transformation through automation. We successfully integrated vertical lift modules, pick-to-light systems, semi-autonomous Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks, autonomous mobile robots, and conveyor sorters. This strategic roadmap showcased our commitment to driving innovation and operational excellence.
Moving forward, we are dedicated to working closely with our client to implement the remaining components outlined in the technology roadmap. Our future automation initiatives include augmented reality picking, autonomous outdoor tuggers, and autonomous pallet Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS). These advancements will continue to propel our client towards a future of enhanced efficiency and productivity.
