Implementation Engineers History
Our journey began in 1963 as Ingersoll Engineers, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Machine Milling Company, to support product installation globally. Ingersoll Engineers provided technical support along with industrial and production engineering expertise to install and integrate Ingersoll’s large industrial equipment into existing and new manufacturing operations. Over time, our technical and manufacturing process support services expanded to include all aspects of manufacturing, including plant design, product flow, quality, product costing, organizational design, and information technology support.
In 1988, Ingersoll Engineers spun out of its parent company to create country-based independent manufacturing service organizations in the UK, Italy, Germany, Australia, and USA. A decade later, the Germany entity was named Management Engineers while the other entities formed Bourton Group. In 2000, Implementation Services acquired Bourton Group USA and changed our name to Implementation Engineers with the intent of leveraging the firm’s deep manufacturing competencies to create the world’s leading Performance Excellence Implementation firm. In 2010, Implementation Engineers launched enCompass®–a holistic, proprietary implementation methodology that provides a structured, disciplined, and integrated process to achieve performance excellence and sustainable results from strategic initiatives and operational projects. enCompass® has enabled our firm to engineer and implement integrated operational and organizational solutions that last for the most complex business challenges.
Implementation Engineers was born from a manufacturing company, and we have stayed true to our roots. We know operations, and we know how to work with people. After more than five decades, Implementation Engineers continues to lead the way in Performance Excellence Implementation through innovative operational and organizational solutions for our clients in complex environments that go far Beyond ConsultingSM.
