IX® in Action
Our client is an international manufacturer of quality electrical and electronic products for a broad range of non-residential and residential construction, industrial, and utility applications. Our client faced significant challenges in their warehouse management processes, resulting in inventory inaccuracy and a complex picking environment. The lack of proper warehouse management processes led to variations and inefficiencies in their operations. The following activities were included during IX®:
- Implemented 5S in the warehouse
- Increased speed of picking through improved labelling approach, optimized pick list approach and new slotting strategy
- Improved small order processing
- Created a segmented approach to inventory management including A-E classification, migration of items to appropriate pick slot locations and transfer of slow-moving items to consignment areas
- Implemented cycle count process using SAP
